.....that you could use the INSERT key to paste contents of the clipboard into Microsoft Word? Go to Tools|Options and the Edit tab and place a check mark at "Use the INS key for paste"and then click OK. Thereafter, pressing the INSERT key will insert clipboard contents at the cursor location.

.....that WindowsXP has its own compression [zip] utility built in? XP has the capability to compress or extract files so you don't need a separate utility such as WinZip. To use, go to Windows Explorer and browse to the folder in which you want to place the compressed file. Right click on a blank space in the window and select New from the menu, then Compressed (zipped) folder. Drag any file into that folder and it will automatically compress as many files as you wish.

.....that Symantec has a free security check tool? You can find out if your PC is infected with this free tool by going to: www.pcworld.com/downloads/file_description/0,fid,22918,tk,picks,00.asp. After the scanning is complete you will receive a detailed analysis with the results. The tool will check your system’s files, but will not fix any infected files, nor will it scan compressed files. To fix infected files you'll have to install Norton Anti-Virus.

. . . that there are demos, shareware and freeware? A demo is a trial version of a program that you can try, but it won't continue to work, or that some parts are missing. Shareware means try it–pay if you want to keep it. Freeware means exactly that–it’s free.
